Caring for Your Short-Haired Dachshunds Puppy
Brushing
To minimize dander, you should brush your short-haired dachshund once or twice a week. Doing so outside will ensure that they leave their hair there and not on your floors.
With a dachshund puppy from Select Dachshunds, your furry friend will likely already be used to regular brushing–they may even look forward to it!
Bathing
You want to bathe your short-haired dachshund puppy at least once a month. Bathing them more often won’t hurt and, because they’re so small, isn’t much of an ordeal.
Some dogs will be afraid of bath time, but you can do a number of things to help them start looking forward to their bath. Select Dachshunds can help you figure out how.
Nails & Teeth
Dogs should have their teeth brushed and nails clipped regularly to help them keep their teeth and nails healthy and sanitary.
Select Dachshunds puppies will have been introduced to nail clippings and teeth brushing. We’ll ensure that you know what our puppies expect.
