When can the puppies leave?

We do not let our AKC Dachshund puppies leave until they are 8 weeks old, and sometimes a few days past if they are not eating to our requirements. This is NOT negotiable. If the timing is going to be an issue, then we recommend you wait until it is “not” an issue any longer. As a responsible miniature Dachshund breeder, our puppies’ well-being is, and will always be, our first priority!

Our Process

We deworm our puppies every 2 weeks until they are 8 weeks old, then every 3 weeks until they are 4 months old and then once a month until they are 1 year old. Adults are dewormed every 30 days. If a Mom is pregnant she is dewormed an additional time 1-2 weeks before her due date.

We administer all vaccines according to recommended canine guidelines.

At 4 weeks old we give a Parvo shot (Neopar), at 6 weeks we administer a 2 in 1 vaccination for Parvo and Distemper, and we administer a 5 in 1 vaccination 3 weeks later if they are still in our care.

We start the weaning process at 6 weeks of age to give the puppies plenty of time to adjust to being on their own before they go to their forever home at 8 weeks old.

A limited AKC registration paper (no breeding rights)  will be provided.  You must complete the registration with AKC.

As with most miniature Dachshund breeders, we require all of our AKC Dachshund puppies to be seen by your Veterinarian within 72 hours of adoption for your protection as well as ours.  This visit is to verify the puppy is as healthy as we say he/she is, as well as to get established with your Vet for a continuation of puppy vaccinations, dewormings, etc.

We are a licensed miniature Dachshund breeder with the state of Texas, License #337 and with USDA, License #6015582. All of our puppies can be registered with AKC.

  • To protect the health of our Dachshunds, visitors are not allowed to bring any pets onto our premises at any time. The safety and health of all of our Weenie dogs is our first and foremost concern.
  • Appointments to visit must be scheduled in advance. We are not available every day of the week for appointments. Please email us at [email protected] to schedule an appointment.
  • We will not take deposits from a business, broker, etc. As an ethical miniature Dachshund breeder, we do not knowingly sell our puppies to brokers or puppy mills. Deposits to reserve our AKC Dachshund puppies are $300 (plus tax and card fees) and are non-refundable and non-transferrable unless in the unfortunate event that your puppy should become ill or perish.
  • We reserve the right to refuse the placement of one of our puppies if we do not feel the home is a good fit.
